Inspect for evidence of past leakage

Decide if the unit needs repair or replacement

Removal of the Pump from Existing System for Replacement

Isolate the unit and control panel from the power supply, including the control circuit, before starting work.

Close the suction- and discharge-side valves (or drain the system if no valves are installed).

Let the water cool to a maximum of 100°F (38°C) before draining, then open the drain valve and leave it open until servicing is complete.

Loosen the conduit box cover screw and remove the cover.

Disconnect the electrical supply lines to the pump.

Confirm no electrical power is present at the motor leads before continuing.

Pump body pressure can be relieved by loosening the flange bolts and shifting the pump assembly slightly to let pressurized water escape.

Remove the flange nuts and bolts, or loosen the union ring nuts, then remove the pump from the piping.

Clean the closed heating and cooling systems

Drain the closed heating and cooling systems

Refill the closed heating and cooling systems with clean water

Is the system pH between 7 and 9?

Has the system been completely filled and vented?

Check for leaks at every gasketed or soldered joint
