Warning: Ensure to follow the steps carefully to avoid damage to the air filter

Remove the screw and then remove the cover

Remove the screw and then remove the air filter case cover

Wash the foam element in solvent and dry it

Oil the foam element and squeeze out excess oil. The foam element should be wet but not dripping

NOTICE! Do not wring out the foam element when squeezing it. This could cause it to tear

Insert the foam element into the air filter case

TIP! Be sure the foam element seals properly against the air filter holder to avoid air leakage. The engine should never run without the foam element; excessive piston and cylinder wear may result

WARNING! Avoid draining the engine oil immediately after stopping the engine. The oil is hot and should be handled with care to avoid burns.

Place the generator on a level surface and warm up the engine for several minutes. Stop the engine and turn the 3 in 1 switch knob and fuel tank cap air vent knob to 'OFF'.

Did you remove the screw and then remove the oil filler decal?

Did you remove the oil filler cap?

Place an oil pan under the engine. Tilt the generator to drain the oil completely.

Replace the generator to a level surface.

NOTICE! Do not tilt the generator when adding engine oil. This could result in overfilling and damage to the engine.

Did you add engine oil to the upper level?

Wipe the cover clean, and wipe up any spoiled oil.

Warning: This procedure requires trained personnel with PPE!

Remove the screws and pull outward on the areas of the cover

Loosen the bolt and remove the muffler cap, the muffler screen and spark arrester

Notice: When cleaning, use the wire brush lightly to avoid damaging or scratching the muffler screen and spark arrester

Clean the carbon on the muffler screen by wire brush

Check the muffler screen and spark arrester, replace if it damage

Warning: If using in areas prone to fires such as forest or woods, never use an engine without an appropriate spark arrester

Align the spark arrester projection with the hole in the muffler pipe

Cap I and spark plug cap 2 removed

Tool 4 inserted through the hole from the outside of the cover

Handlebar 3 inserted into the tool 4 and turned counterclockwise to remove the spark plug

Spark plug discoloration checked

Porcelain insulator around the center electrode of spark plug checked and is a medium to light tan color

Spark plug type and gap checked

Check fuel hose for cracks or damage. Replace if necessary
