Fire Extinguisher Monthly Inspection
This procedure is a monthly fire extinguisher inspection checklist covering the extinguisher's visibility, signage, access, cylinder condition, label, hose, nozzle, locking pin, seal, and pressure gauge. It includes photo evidence, a tilt test of the gauge, and a check of the previous month's inspection tag, and it ends with initialing the tag and a signature.

Take a photo of the fire extinguisher and its storage location

Is the fire extinguisher easily visible?
Is there adequate signage above the fire extinguisher?
Is the fire extinguisher's immediate surrounding free from obstruction?
Is the fire extinguisher easily removable from its bracket/container?
Cylinder tank and all external metal parts free of corrosion, dents, or damage
Is the sticker/label on the cylinder readable?
Is the hose free of cracks or other signs of damage?
Upload a photo of the fire extinguisher hose

Does the inside of the nozzle show any leak?
Is the locking pin present and intact?
Is the seal present and not broken?
Is the pressure gauge pointed within the optimal green range?
Tilt the fire extinguisher back and forth 3 times. Afterwards confirm that the guage is still in the green
Was a completed inspection for the previous month reflected on the inspection tag?
