DECI Monthly Safety and Pest Control Inspection
The goal of routine pest inspections is to identify pest issues early before they become serious.
Exterior
Walkways and ramps are in good condition
Stairs are free of items and kept dry/ handrails in good condition and lighting is adequate
General
Aisles are established and clear (walkways are free of slip/trip hazards). No cords across walkways.
Floors are even (no excessive holes or cracks)
Floors kept dry - not slippery. Spills are cleaned up quickly.
Mats available for use when needed
Chairs are in good condition
Good housekeeping practiced and trash is removed on a regular basis
Tools are maintained in good condition and used properly
Bathrooms
Bathrooms are in good condition and clean
Wet floor signs used for mopping are removed in a timely manner
Electrical and Lighting
Extension cords are in good condition, no more than 10 feet in length and covered if in walkways
Electrical cords are properly grounded and plugs in good condition. Cannot daisy chain extension cords.
Wall outlet and junction box covers are in place
Electric circuit panels clear of obstruction (at least 30 inches), closed and properly labeled as to purpose and voltage
Lighting is adequate and bulbs are properly lit
Fire Systems and Emergency Exit
Evacuation routes are posted and accessible to all persons
No storage within 18 inches of sprinkler heads
Exits are properly marked, exit signs illuminated
Exits are not obstructed and are unlocked during normal business hours
Location of each fire extinguisher is easily identifiable for quick access
Fire extinguishers are accessible - no physical obstruction
Fire extinguishers have current inspection tags
First Aid
First Aid signage and locations are clear, visible, and unobstructed
Pest Control
No pests seen - pest control practices and inspections are current and up-to-date
Chemicals
Chemicals are properly stored
Any additional observations
