Lantech Wrapper Lock Out Tag Out Procedure
This procedure outlines the steps necessary to safely lock out and tag out the Lantech Wrapper to prevent injury from unexpected energization or release of stored energy during maintenance. It includes authorization, preparation, lock out, verification, and returning the machine to service.
Preparation and Notification
Identify sources of energy and Air pressure in relation to the maintenance task
Notify all machine operators about the lockout
Lock Out Procedure
Wait for electricity to discharge (in minutes)
Wait 5 minutes for electricity to discharge.
Verification
Verify the machine will not start up with an e-stop pressed
Verify the machine HMI will not power on with the power switch in the off position
Returning Machine to Service
Main panel visual inspection
Inspect panel for wear, ensure knobs are secure and tight.(set screws)
Safety Gate function test
Ensure interlock is functioning as designed, hardware is torqued and tight and gate locks, and locks.
Wrap arm and roller carriage visual
Inspect limit switches for wear and play, ensure all hardware is torqued, electrical connections secure and tight.
Air valve visual inspection
Inspect for leaks, loose wires, solenoid lock screws for tension, clean filters/breathers.
Lantech pallet conveyors
Inspect chains and guides for stretch/tension and wear.
Upper wrap mast bearing inspection
Upper pully and belt inspection
Inspect belt for wear, cracks, or missing teeth, inspect pullies for wear, play and tension.
Upper drive motor
Remove brushes and blow out motor
Hotwire
Inspect hotwire for damage, ensure proper tension, clean and clear of debris
Suction cups and vacuum filters
Inspect for wear and damage
Lower air ram, vacuum generator
Inspect for leaks, ensure clean and clear of debris
