Semi-Annual Dust Collector 1/2 Filter Bag change

Pre-Work Safety Check

• Notify Supervisor of work beginning on the Dust Collector.

• Lockout the fan associated with the Dust Collector.

• Lockout the compressed air for the Dust Collector.

• Ensure Safety Glasses and Dust Masks are worn.

Filter Bag Change Procedure

• Ensure new filter bags are ready to install before beginning this PM.

• Open the covers for only the sections of filter bags that will be changed for this PM, 1/2 or as close as possible to 1/2 of the filter bags. On the next PM you will change the filter bags not changed today.

• Remove and discard the old filter bags. Be sure to keep count as you remove the old filter bags, so you can verify that all old filter bags were removed, and disposed of.

• Install new filter bags and cages. Ensure that new filter bags are seated properly in the holder.

• Replace covers that were removed earlier. Ensure that all gaskets and fasteners are in place and in good condition.

• Update map from Maintenance Manager to show which filter bags were changed.

Return Dust Collector to service

• Remove lockout from fan associated with the Dust Collector. Fan should be ready for production.

• Remove lockout from compressed air source for Dust Collector.

• Notify Supervisor that work is complete on the Dust Collector.
