Daily alleyway checks keep the processing support systems running safely and catch leaks or low chemical levels before they affect production.
Daily Alleyway Inspections / Preventive Maintenance Tasks
This procedure covers the daily alleyway inspection and PM tasks across the Trolley Room, Hot Wash Room, Bromine Tanks, Spray Chill Room and Air Compressor Rooms, including checking pumps, hoses, water lines and hydraulic power packs for leaks and topping up hydraulic fluid. It also covers managing the chemical barrels and the lactic acid and bromine levels, switching valves and compressors, and checking the general alleyway and booster pumps.
Check Blood Pump Wires/Hoses
Open Overflow Valve
Close valve to truck
Remove empty barrels for Trolley Room
Ensure full barrels are available for Trolley Room (No Carb NF and EZ Roll Plus)
Check pumps for air leaks in Trolley Room
Check lactic acid tote level in Hot Wash Room
If over half pass, if around half, flag, if under fail
Make Sure Lactic Pump is Off
Inspect hydraulic power pack hoses in Hot Wash Room
Refill hydraulic fluid in Hot Wash Room if necessary
Inspect hot wash water lines in Hot Wash Room
Turn off bromine in Bromine Tanks
Check for tank fullness in Bromine Tanks
Inspect Bromine Tanks for leaks
Check hydraulic power pack hoses for leaks in Spray Chill Room
Refill hydraulic fluid in Spray Chill Room if necessary
Check water lines to spray chill system in Spray Chill Room
Inspect pumps for leaks in Spray Chill Room
Inspect Air Compressor Rooms for air leaks
Turn off the main compressor in Air Compressor Rooms
Turn on Sullivan Palatek compressor in Air Compressor Rooms
Check Fab power pack for leaks in Air Compressor Rooms
Refill hydraulic fluid in Air Compressor Rooms if necessary
Check for trash, debris, leaks, and any anomalies in General Alleyway
Inspect and ensure proper operation of Booster Pumps
