Weekly safety shower and eyewash inspection
This procedure outlines the steps for conducting a weekly inspection of safety showers and eyewash stations across various locations. Each section corresponds to a specific station, ensuring that all necessary checks are performed to maintain safety and functionality.
Office Building Safety Shower and Eyewash Station
Ensure access is unobstructed.
Check the shower for visual damage or corrosion.
Check the shut off valve for leaks or damage.
Turn on shower and ensure sufficient amount of water is being expelled.
Check protective nozzle covers are properly positioned, clean and intact.
Check the bowl and spouts are clean and free from debris.
Turn on the spouts and ensure the protective caps come off.
Check water is flowing from both spouts.
Ensure the water stream is adequate and the streams cross paths.
Check the water is clean and clear coming out from spouts.
Ensure the water drains from bowl effectively.
Ensure Safety Showers & Eye wash are clean and in good condition.
Acid Transfer Station Safety Shower and Eyewash Station
Ensure access is unobstructed.
