Forklift Boom Inspection Monthly
This Procedure covers a monthly forklift boom inspection: check hooks and latches, mounting points and clevis/bolt, safety chain, boom frame, slide/tilt assemblies and pins; remove from service and notify maintenance for any defects (see corporate policy link).
Inspect lifting hooks for any wear or damage
Inspect lifting hook safety latches
Inspect hook mounting points for any damage or wear
Inspect hook clevis for damage and make sure clevis bolt is secure
Inspect forklift safety chain
Inspect boom frame for damage and cracking
Inspect boom slide assembly and pin
Inspect boom tilt assembly and pin
Remove from service and notify maintenance supervisor of any damage or safety concerns
