Standard Width Crane Preventive Maintenance
This procedure outlines the preventive maintenance steps for standard width cranes, including inspections of the lift drive, lift carriage, moving device, telescopic table, and electrical equipment. It emphasises safety precautions such as using LOTO and checking the safety switch functionality.
Pre-Maintenance Safety
Check crane running hours on Ferretto UI and note
Lift Drive Unit Inspection
Drive Lift and listen for noise coming from drive unit
Inspect motor/gearbox for leakage and security
Inspect motor mount for proper security
Inspect shrink disc for proper tightness (12Nm)
Inspect Drive Shaft/bearing block for wear, moderate play, and security
Inspect jump protection proper position, and security
Inspect connecting Shaft - flange for wear, moderate play, and security (70Nm)
Lift Unit Inspection
Check lift frame level is level and aligned
Running Wheel X Axis
if the answer is "empty "
if the answer is "checked "
Check Rope Sheaves for wear using sheave wear tool
Check Ropes For Corrosion & condition
Check LU wheels for wear and tear/roundness
Check Alignment of X directional Runner Bearings
Check proper Alignment of Y directional Runner Bearings
Check all bolts connecting LU Mounting and wheels
DU Inspection
Operate DU and listen for noise/Vibration
Check Rail Guide Rollers for wear alignment and bonding
Inspect motor/gearbox for leakage and security
Inspect shrink disk for proper tightness (17Nm)
Inspect none driven pulleys/bearings for wear, functionality, and security
Check all mounting/connection bolts for proper tightness
LDU Inspection
Clean entire Carriage
Drive W Axis and inspect motor/gearbox for noise, leakage.
Check W Axis Chains for proper tracking and adjust if required
Inspect Carriage Frame for any visual damage
Inspect clamping set for wear and security
Inspect flange bearing for play and security
Inspect rotex coupling for proper seating and security
Inspect Fingers for wear, play and security
Inspect locking Pin solenoids for functionality and security
Check all bolt connections for tightness
Electrical Equipment Inspection
Inspect energy chains for damage and security
Inspect all sensors/plugs and reflectors for wear, functionality and security
Inspect magnetic - limit switch travel for wear, functionality and security
Inspect WCS reader - reading tape for wear and security - Clean
Check bolts securing cabinet to frame for tightness
Thermal imaging check on electrical core components (contactors, Invertors etc.)
Chassis Top & Bottom
Check chassis for cracks and integrity
Check for presence of checker plate on carriages (if fitted)
Check Top Hat Rollers for wear and integrity of the vulkolan bonding
Check Side Guide Rollers for wear and integrity of the vulkolan bonding
Check mast & chassis bolts for tightness. Mark with relevant paint pen
Safety Switch Check
Check operation of all safety switches
