Standpipe Inspection

The most common problems found with standpipes are preventable with good maintenance. Common problems like leaking valves and damage to devices can lead to costly repairs if they go unchecked, and more importantly, can cause your system to fail when you need it most.

Standpipe Inspection

Inspect stand pipes on the flood rack.

Verify Standpipe drain holes are clear of debris, such as plant roots, leaves, plug media, and algae.

Verify Standpipe overflow holes are clear of debris, such as plant roots, leaves, plug media, and algae.

Otherwise, if notable debris accumulation has occurred or the standpipe is lined with biofilm or algae, follow the standpipe cleaning procedure.

Standpipe Cleaning

Clean Standpipe drain and overflow holes using a long thin brush (drinking straw cleaner brush).
