This pre-shift crane inspection walks the operator through a quick visual and functional check of the crane, hoist, wire rope, hook, controls, and safety devices, with any failed item flagged for corrective action before use.

To be used at the beginning of every shift. IF ANYTHING FAILS IN THE INSPECTION IT MUST BE REPORTED. FLAG FOR CORRECTIVE ACTION.

Visual Walk Around
Visually Check Trolley and Monorail
Check Cables on Pendant and Trolley
Stickers on Crane
Check for Fluid/Oil Leaks
Check for Loose Nuts and Bolts
Covers in Place
Wire Rope
Block
Hook/Safety Latch
Sheeves/Rollers
All Remote Controls - Test all directions and brakes
Stickers on Remote
Warning Indicator (lights and horns)
Safety Device/Emergency Stop
Upper and Lower Limit Switch
Stop Bumpers
No Unusual Noises
Work Area clear of hazards
