Solenoid Replacement Procedure

Follow this procedure to ensure safe and proper replacement of your solenoid and avoid unnecessary failure and injuries.

Override power to affected solenoid to OFF in toolbelt.

Disconnect the solenoid LV wire connections at the solenoid. These might be housed inside a weatherproof conduit box, which you will need to access.

Untighten the 2 unions holding the solenoid in place.

Remove threaded plumbing fitting assemblies from the old solenoid.

Re-install plumbing fitting assemblies on the new solenoid, making sure to re-apply plumbing dope as required.

Install the solenoid by tightening the 2 unions.

Re-connect the new solenoid's LV wiring. You might need to trim and strip wires, and re-seal any weatherproofing.

Test new solenoid by overriding groups in toolbelt. You should also test the solenoid for leaks.
