This procedure outlines the steps for a comprehensive monthly inspection of the PAPR, focusing on the motor/blower, filters/cartridge, battery pack, and headgear to ensure all components are in good working condition and free of damage.
Motor/Blower Inspection
Is the main housing unit free of cracks, holes or any other damage?
Is the main housing unit free of discoloration, chalky appearance or deterioration?
Is the area under the motor/blower clean and free of contaminants?
Is the motor blower display clean and the lighting is clearly visible?
Are the ON/OFF and flow control buttons intact with no cuts, tears or holes?
Does the release button function smoothly and hold the filter/cartridge securely to the motor/blower?
Is the outlet of the motor/blower that connects to the breathing tube free of damage, dirt, debris?
Is the belt attachment T-bar on the back of the motor/blower intact and undamaged?
Is the airflow adequate when using the TR-971 airflow indicator?
When covering the airflow outlet indicator, does the low airflow alarm function properly?
Filters/Cartridge and Accessories Inspection
Is the filter cover intact with no cracks or other damage?
Is the filter/cartridge intact with no cracks, tears, cuts or other damage?
Is the filter/cartridge expired or has it exceeded its maximum hours of use?
Is the filter/cartridge free of distortion, indentations and debris?
Is the metal spark arrestor clean and intact with no damage?
Battery Pack Inspection
Is the battery pack free of cracks, holes or other damage?
Are the electrical contacts clean and dry with no corrosion?
Is the battery pack hinge intact with no damage or erosion?
Does the battery pack release button move freely and function properly?
When the battery pack is properly attached is it secure and held firmly in place?
When pushing the 'Test' button does the indicator light up?
Headgear Inspection
Is the face seal intact with no cracks, tears, cuts or other damage?
Is the visor clean and free of scratches or other visual distortions?
Is the visor gasket pliable and free of tears or other damage?
Are the hose and hose connections in good condition and free of cracks, kinks or other damage?
Is the suspension intact and free of cracks, rips, fading or other damage?
Is the suspension ratchets operational?
Pre-Use Inspections
Is the pre-use inspection being performed and documented?
