Health and Safety Steps

• Notify the affected Team Members of the Repair and maintenance work to be performed(Team lead and Operator)

• Identify the energy sources, potential health and safety hazards, all operational controls devices

• Place the CAUTION "MAINTENANCE IN PROGRESS" sign at the control station(s),and make sure it is secured and visible

• Press the Emergency stop button(Manually press the Emergency stop button)

• Locate the Light barrier safety device

• Lock the door with the fence using a cable Lockout and secure it with your own Padlock.

• Validate the the light barrier turn RED

• Validate the light barrier error code is showing up on the Homag Software

• Test the error reset button ( error must remain)

• Test the Operating start button

• Wearing PPE is mandatory (Hardhat, Mechanical gloves, Protective Glasses , Steel cap shoe)

• Control of the tools before usage

• Avoid pinch points (Can result to a severe injury)

• Never work between one or two movable mechanical devices (even with LOTO to adapt the philosophy)

• Never work under a weight (crush hazard)

• Conduct your repair and maintenance action safely

• Once finished inspect your area of work ( to be sure no tool was left or anything can provoke a safety hazard)

• Release the Emergency Stop button

• Open the padlock used for LOTO the light barrier and store the cable Lockout

• Take off the Maintenance in progress sign from the control station

• Communicate with the affected Team Members that the job was performed

The signature of the person reassuring Health and Safety procedure steps were followed is Mandatory, (the supervisor can be from any production or maintenance or H&S)

Nail Guns Servicing

• It depends on the event but in general start to unplug all the air supply/hoses even the main one after pushing the E-Stop

• Disconnect the electrical cable ( magazine detection sensor)

• Loosen the 24mm nut holding the gun to the plate

• take off the gun and put the spare one

• plug all the pneumatic hoses after tightening the 24mm nut to the plate

• plug the electrical cable for the nails sensor detector
