This procedure outlines the monthly preventive maintenance tasks for the fire suppression system in the mill. It includes safety checks, cleaning, inspection, testing of system components, and recording of spark counts across different zones.

    Safety and Preparation

    Gather tools and materials

    Clean and Inspection

    Zone 1 & 2

    Clean sensor lens on spark detection system with alcohol and inspect for wear or cracks

    Flush out water lines on spark detection system at each 'Y' strainer until water is clean

    Test both valves in Card 1

    • Pass

    Test Both sensors in Card 1 If failed Note which zone(s)

    Inspect valve and heat tape on spark detection system for proper temperature and absence of oil or grease

    Exercise solenoid valve on deluge system to ensure proper orientation

    Test deluge system functionality from diagnostic screen on main control panel
