L-path Drag conveyor tension check
This procedure covers checking and adjusting the tension of the L-path drag conveyor while the equipment is running, including checking at the curve, tail, and head sections for sprocket wear. It also includes identifying tension issues such as paddles falling over, links buckling, or paddles lifting off the divider plate, and recording any tension adjustments made.
Warning: Tension checks can only be done with equipment running. Check inspection doors for safety switches before opening
Tension checked at the curve for L-path drags. Double check at tail of drag.
Check head section as well for sprocket wear or other issues
Are paddles falling over at curve for curved drags?
If paddles are falling over, tension is too loose.
Are links buckling for curved drags
If links are buckling, chain is too loose.
If paddles are coming off of the divider plate at curve, the tension is too tight.
