RISK ASSESSMENTS AND METHOD STATEMENTS (RAMS) CHECKLIST
You should be able to answer ‘Yes’ to the following:
Are the RAMS provided in a prompt and timely manner?
Do they cover the actual work that is planned?
Do they take account of hazards that are specific to your site/location/activities?
Do they deal with hazards to all affected – not just those doing the work?
In their risk ratings, are the assessments of ‘likelihood’ and ‘severity’ realistic?
Are the control measures sensible and specific (avoiding vague generalities such as ‘suitable PPE will be worn’)?
Are copies of the RAMS provided to those directly involved in doing the work?
Are the planned and promised precautions actually implemented?
