DC100: Dock Seal Inspection and Dock Leveler Annual Maintenance

This procedure covers the annual inspection and basic maintenance of DC100 dock seals and dock levelers, including checking the weather seal, dock plate seal, dock seals, bumpers, and control/alarm functions. It also includes cleaning debris from the leveler bay, inspecting mechanisms for wear or leaks, and applying a light coat of lithium grease to joints and hinges.

    Dock Inspection

    Note 1: Please take note of any damages or repairs as you go through the inspections below and report them in the box at the bottom of this section.

    One on each side of truck dock doors and one along the top.

    One on each side of truck dock doors down low at truck bumper height.

    Dock Plate Maintenance

    Note 2: We do not want to have any repairs or alterations done to the dock plate mechanisms we just want to maintain them. If your dock plate is in need of repair please use the box below for excess wear or damage to report the issue and we will be able to help arrange a vendor to get the repairs completed.

    Note 3: Safety is paramount during this maintenance so follow all safety precautions listed below. Please take extra safety precautions if you feel they are necessary to keep yourself and others safe during the dock plate maintenance procedure.

    Inspect all mechanisms for leaks, excessive wear, and ensure free movement. Are there any issue with wear or damage that should be reported.

    Please do not make repairs to the dock leveler or mechanisms. If repairs are needed we will help to get a vendor set up to manage any repairs.

    Note 4: DO NOT over apply grease. Grease is very sticky and will cause dirt to accumulate which adds extra wear to components in the dock leveler over time.
