Daily Micro GC Operation and Preventive Maintenance Checklist
This procedure provides a daily checklist for operating and maintaining the Micro GC system, including checks on fluid levels, pressures, filters, temperatures, and alarms. It helps detect abnormal noise, vibration, or pressure conditions early so issues can be corrected before they impact gas analysis accuracy, equipment reliability, or safety.

Is Micro GC Running? If not, check fluid levels and close work order.
Check for Abnormal noise or vibration.
Check for abnormal noise and/or vibrations and all electrical and mechanical connections. Abnormal noises could include coupling noise, grinding, gas, or air leaks. Repair any issues detected.
Check Oil Level
Check lubricant levels via the sight glass. Add oil if the oil level is below the minimum level when running, or below half-full when stopped. Feed Compressor oil specifications provided in Appendix A.2 – Safety Data Sheets.
Check Oil Filters
Record pressure differential, change filters if pressure drop is equal to or greater than 7 PSIG or when the differential pressure indicator shows red. Replacement oil filter specifications provided in Appendix C – Spare Parts List.
Check Oil Seperators
Record pressure differential, change separator if pressure drop is equal to or greater than 7 PSIG. Replacement oil separator specifications provided in Appendix C – Spare Parts List
Check DP on filter 3124 if greater than 5 replace
Check DP on filter 3125 if greater than 5 replace
Section #1
Bi-Weekly Drain Oil from Mesh Strainers
Clean or replace, as necessary. Replacement mesh strainer specifications provided in Appendix C - Spare Parts List.
GC Cal Gas Line Pressure (If not set to 15psi fail the inspection)
GC Cal Gas Tank Pressure (If less 50psi replace)
GC Carrie Gas Line Pressure (If not set to 95psi fail the inspection)
GC Carrier Gas Tank Pressure (If less than 200psi replace)
Check GC heater to ensure its working
GC Internal Temperature?
Check GC for any Active Alarms (Note any action alarms)
