1. Daily / Shift-Based Tasks (Operators)

• Check oil level in gearbox sight glass.

• Inspect guides and sliding surfaces for dirt, chips, or lack of lubrication. Wipe clean.

• Confirm coolant pump function and coolant level.

• Verify safety guards (drill guard, interlocks) are in place and operational.

2. Weekly Tasks (Maintenance Technicians)

• Top up gearbox oil with HLP 46 type oil (e.g., Mobil DTE 25, BP Energol HLP 46).

• Grease lubrication points (fittings on moving arms and spindle support) using multipurpose grease (NLGI 2, e.g., Mobilux EP2, Aralub HL 2).

• Inspect belts and pulleys for wear/tension.

• Drain condensate from air/coolant system.

3. Monthly Tasks

• Clean and lubricate guides/ways with way oil ISO VG 68 (e.g., Mobil Vactra No.4, Shell Tonna Oil T68).

• Check electrical panel for loose wires, discoloration, or overheating.

• Test emergency stop, limit switches, and interlocks.

• Inspect coolant hoses and fittings for leaks or wear.

4. Quarterly / Semi-Annual Tasks

• Replace gearbox oil completely with fresh HLP 46 oil.

• Clean and flush coolant system; refill with recommended cutting fluid.

• Check alignment and calibration of spindle travel and table.

• Grease bearings, spindle housing, and column fittings.

• Verify torque settings on column/table clamping bolts.

5. Annual / Major Service

• Complete overhaul of gearbox lubrication (drain, flush, refill).

• Replace worn seals, bearings, belts as per inspection.

• Inspect coolant pump and replace impeller/seals if degraded.

• Full electrical inspection (fuses, motor contactors, overloads).

• Comprehensive safety compliance inspection.

6. Lubricants & Consumables (per OEM chart)

• Gearbox & hydraulics → ISO VG 46 hydraulic oil (e.g., Mobil DTE 25, Shell Tellus 46).

• Guides/ways → ISO VG 68 way oil (e.g., Mobil Vactra No.4, BP Maccurat 68).

• General greasing points → Multipurpose EP grease, NLGI 2 (e.g., Mobilux EP2, Aralub HL 2).
