Cooling Tower De-Icing

Setup the fan to run in reverse

• Press "Off" on VFD

• Select "Menu"

• Select "Primary Settings"

• Select "Motor"

• Select "Phase Order"

• Select "UWV" (This is the reversed fan direction phase order, the alphabetical "UVW" is the normal direction)

• Select "Save"

• Select "Back"

• Select "Back" again

• Select "Exit"

Perform Reversed Fan operation

• Select "Options"

• Select "Reference"

• Set to 12 Hz and Select "Save"

• Select "Exit"

• Press "Hand" Button on the bottom right of VFD panel

• Let fans run in Reverse for 2 minutes. Press off to end fan reverse operation.

Restore the Fan to normal configuration

• Select "Menu"

• Select "Primary Settings"

• Select "Motor"

• Select "Phase Order"

• Select "UVW" (This restoring the the normal fan direction)

• Select "Save"

• Select "Back"

• Select "Exit"

Restore VFD to Auto operation

• Press "Auto" on VFD
