Weekly Check - GL2 Cabling

The Weekly Check for GL2 cabling is a proactive procedure aimed at ensuring the integrity, functionality, and safety of cabling systems designated as GL2. Regular inspections help identify potential issues early, ensuring that the cabling infrastructure continues to operate efficiently without interruption or safety risks.

    Preparation

    Ensure the GL2 has been unloaded and you are permitted to enter. Liase with Karl or Ahmed. Gather the following:

    Visual Inspection

    This section you will require both access to the GL2 Interior, and all 6 Boreas to GL2 Cables.

    Broken or Bent or Damaged pins on GL2 Sockets

    • Pass
    • Flag
    • Fail
    if the answer is "noneOf [PASS]"

    If Damage has occured, immediately raise with a supervisor for verification. Place a hold on GL2 loading until damage has been inspected.

    Broken or Bent or Damaged pins on GL2 Cable Ends

    • Pass
    • Flag
    • Fail
    if the answer is "noneOf [PASS]"

    If Damage has occured, immediately raise with a supervisor for verification. Place a hold on GL2 loading until damage has been inspected.

    Cable Test

    This section you will be placing the cables onto the testing rig and verifying the cables are working

    Screw in the Boreas Connector and the GL2 connections as shown

    Testing Cables

    Press the silver button and ensure all 5 lights are shown. Repeat for the remaining cables.

    • Pass
    • Flag
    • Fail
    if the answer is "noneOf [PASS]"

    If Damage has occured, immediately raise with a supervisor for verification. Place a hold on GL2 loading until damage has been inspected.
