LOC 81 Bulk Lift Table Fork Assembly Cleaning

This supplemental procedure provides additional cleaning and corrosion control steps for the bulk lift table fork assembly at Location 81. Due to wet mat processing conditions, these tasks help prevent rust, extend component life, and ensure safe and reliable operation beyond the standard quarterly PM.

LOC 81 Bulk Lift Table Fork Assembly Cleaning

Supplement to the Quarterly PM for use at Location 81, which processes wet mats. Forks, carriage, and mast require additional cleaning and corrosion treatment which are not specified in the Global Procedure steps.

Remove Debris & Clean

Remove dirt, dust, and debris from the forks, mast, and carriage using a brush and/or compressed air.
Use mild degreaser or detergent with a soft brush to remove caked-on dirt and debris.
Rinse with water and dry thoroughly to prevent further flash rust.

Control Rust & Prevent

Remove rust from forks, mast, carriage, and fasteners using a scrub brush and/or mild abrasion.
Inspect all parts for excessive rust corrosion which may require replacement. Open a corrective work order if needed.
Treat the forks, mast, carriage and fasteners with rust treatment such as Ospho, Evapo-Rust, Rust-Oleum Rust Dissolver, or similar. Then paint the cleaned, treated, dried surfaces with Rust-Oleum Rocalkyd Cold Galvanizing Compound, AGS Rust Paint, Krylon Rust Tough paint, or similar.
