This procedure ensures that a newly acquired truck meets all necessary DOT requirements, is properly marked with company identification, and is operationally ready for fleet use in a construction company. It includes checks for essential safety and compliance items, verification of company markings, and an assessment of the truck's readiness for use.

    Equipment Outfit

    List of equipment that should be issued to each truck

    Every truck

    Ensure the truck has the following items

    Foreman Truck - Generally F-250s or F-350s

    Ensure the truck has these following items

    Superintendent Truck - Generally F-150s

    Ensure the truck has these following items

    Company Identification

    Is the company name clearly marked on both sides of the truck?

    • N / A

    Are the USDOT numbers clearly marked on both sides of the truck?

    • Yes
    • No
    • N / A

    Operational Readiness

    Function Test

    Engine preformance

    Test engine performance (smooth startup, no unusual noises or smoke)

    Steering and Suspension Operate Properly

    Check all Fluids

    Engine oil, coolant, transmission fluid, brake fluid, and washer fluid levels

    Proper tread depth, no signs of wear/damage, correct inflation pressure
