5S Pavilion and Storeroom Checklist

This procedure assesses the organization and cleanliness of the pavilion and storeroom using the 5S method: Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain. It scores each item from 1 to 5, with 0 available on selected items.
Procedure Max Score: 100

    Sort

    No unnecessary items are in the pavilion or storeroom

    All parts and materials in storage are required for current operations

    Standards for identifying and discarding obsolete and/or damaged material exists

    Set

    Labels exist to identify and describe all parts and materials in storage

    Evidence of inventory controls exists (i.e. FIFO, minimum, maximum, etc.)

    Specific areas for individual items are clearly identified and clean

    Layout plan exists, is visible, and is updated adequately

    Shine

    Floor, walls, racks, and shelves are kept clean and free from dirt and dust

    Equipment and stored items are kept clean

    Access points remain clear and free of obstructions

    Cleaning tools and materials are available and kept in good condition

    Trash is emptied on a regular basis

    Standardize

    Information displays, signs, color coding and other markings are established

    Procedure for maintaining the first three S’s are being displayed

    All team members know their responsibilities, when and how

    5S Checklist, schedules and routines are defined and regular audits are carried out

    Sustain

    All checks taken and documented

    All team members are adequately trained, and recognition is part of 5S system

    Results from previous audit are posted

    Procedures are up-to-date and regularly reviewed
