This procedure outlines the steps for conducting an annual electrical maintenance inspection for a lift, ensuring all components and systems are functioning correctly and meet safety standards.

    Pre-Maintenance Preparation

    Ensure understanding of potential hazards before starting maintenance.

    Ensure all energy sources are properly locked out and tagged out.

    Verify that all safety guards are in place and functional.

    AC Inspection

    Inspect all AC components

    Are all heaters functioning?

    Battery Maintenance

    Are all chargers functioning?

    • Yes

    Brake Pump Motor

    Follow manufacturer’s recommendations for brake pump motor maintenance

    Document any specific actions taken.

    Safety Related Control Functions Test

    Test emergency and safety functions

    Control Functions Test

    Test control functions

    Electronic Speed-Regulated Drive Monitoring Test

    Test drive monitoring functions

    Low Voltage Control Circuit Inspection

    Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)

    Motor Control Inspection

    Follow manufacturer’s maintenance recommendations for motor control

    Document any specific actions taken.

    Motor/Prime Mover Inspection

    Measure resistance between armature and ground

    Record values using a 500V MEG-Ohm meter.

    Measure resistance between armature and field

    Record values using a 500V MEG-Ohm meter.

    Measure resistance between field and ground

    Record values using a 500V MEG-Ohm meter.

    Measure and record brush lengths

    Smoke Alarm Inspection

    Test smoke alarms
