Iron Daily Preventive Maintenance
Regular ironer maintenance will achieve significant improvements in flatwork productivity, standards of finishing and profitability.

All hazardous energy has been isolated using LOTO procedures?
All potential stored or residual energy has been relieved, disconnected, restrained, lowered, and/or otherwise rendered safe?
General Inspection
Observe machine running, watch and listen for abnormal conditions
Test all e-stops and safety devices
Inspect iron rolls. If any ribbons or other materials wrapped around the rolls are present, LOTO machine and remove
Replace any broken/missing ribbons
Check with operator and/or log sheet to ensure waxing is being completed twice per shift
Cleaning
Use compressed air to clean lint from machine exterior, all around machine and build up under the machine
Continue with compressed air doing the same to any feeders and/or folders attached to the iron
