EPN-01 WEEKLY PM

Use this checklist to reduce hazard of life and property that can result from failure or malfunction of industrial- type electrical systems and equipment. Preventing any unplanned downtime and expensive costs from unanticipated equipment failure.

    DCE BAGHOUSE

The Dalamatic Cased, Model DLMC, dust collectors are continuous-duty collectors with bag-style filters designed to handle product recovery applications and operations generating nuisance dust. The DLMC provides continuous filtration and high collection efficiency while maintaining a relatively constant system resistance.

    Collector filter pressure drop

Visually inspect and record the operating pressure drop across each dust collector. It is normal for the pressure drop to fluctuate during operation as the collector passes through cleaning cycles, and as production schedules fluctuate from light to heavy. New filters may have a pressure drop of less that 1” w.g., however, as filters become seasoned, they will reach an equilibrium pressure drop. Generally 1 to 6” w.g. is considered normal. An excessively high pressure drop could be an indication of a malfunction in the cleaning mechanism, excessive airflow, plugged filters, or heavy dust loading conditions. Consult your Installation and Operation manual for troubleshooting recommendations.

    CYCLONE

Cyclone dust collectors are mechanical separators that use the principles of centrifugal force to remove particulate from the airstream. The Cyclone provides high-efficiency separation due to its high inlet velocities. Long tapered cones and an inner helix minimize inlet-zone turbulence common in some similarly designed equipment.

    DELTA P+ CONTROL

The Delta P Controller monitors the differential pressure between the clean-air and dirty-air plenums, providing a visual display of the filter condition. When combined with a pulse timer, it manages the pressure drop by turning the cleaning mechanism On and Off at the chosen limits. There are three (3) set points: High Pressure On, Low Pressure Off, and Alarm. The first two, High Pressure On and Low Pressure Off, control the filter cleaning system. The third, Alarm, provides a relay output to activate an external alarm supplied by others.

    Operational Inspection

    1. Visually confirm Delta P display is illuminated and displaying differential pressure. 2. Observe and address any alarm conditions. 3. If cleaning light is on, confirm that the collector is advancing through the cleaning process.
