Food Safety Pre-Check

Prior to performing this maintenance task, the areas that may be impacted unintentionally by the maintenance activities were inspected to assure no Partner’s safety is at risk and no customer product or Cintas equipment would be compromised, contaminated, or otherwise damaged due to this specific task. Any product that may be impacted was moved and / or otherwise isolated to assure protection.

Complete the Weekly PM.

To calibrate the pump, place the foot valve assembly in a graduated cylinder #### ml filled with coag solution. Switch pump to manual / internal mode with speed at 100 until all air out of suction line and pump head.

Turn the pump off. Top off the graduated cylinder and note the starting volume measurement.

Turn the pump on. Count the number of strokes for exactly one minute, then switch the pump off. Note the number of strokes.

Note the ending volume measurement in the graduated cylinder.

Divide the volume suctioned (in ml) by the number of strokes in one minute.

Compare the results to desired output (# strokes/min or # stroked/hr). Adjust the stroke length knob for correction. Repeat until achieved desired rate.

To zero the dial, with the pump running, turn the stroke knob counter clockwise to zero or end of black or red band on the dial.

Listen to the clicking as the pump is running. The pump should not click at the zero position. If the pump is clicking, then open a corrective work order to repair the stroke knob to the zero position.

Food Safety Post-Check

After performing this maintenance task, a review of all applicable areas that may have been impacted was conducted to assure there are no residual risks to Partner safety remaining. Also, a review of all applicable areas to ensure that no customer products were inadvertently compromised, contaminated, or otherwise damaged was conducted. If any conditions were observed indicating that any of the previous concerns have been negatively impacted, the issue was escalated to leadership.
