Lock Out/Tag Out Procedures for Graphic Procedures

This Lockout Tagout procedure is a planned safety maintenance that disables the energy supply of industrial machinery and equipment whilst servicing, maintenance work or repairs are in progress. The aim of this system is to effectively protect workers from the dangers created by live machinery or electricity, therefore lowering the overall level of risk when working with this equipment.

    For larger equipment, OSHA allows an exception to the procedural requirements when all of the following conditions are met:

    If any of those conditions are not met, the exception does not apply, and a LO/TO procedure needs to be created for the equipment.

    These steps must be followed by authorized employees when the servicing or maintenance is completed, and the equipment is ready to return to normal operation.
