Motors and Pumps Preventive Maintenance

This procedure outlines the quarterly preventive maintenance for Motors and pumps, focusing on safety, visual inspection, bearing inspection, cleaning, and checking the bushing collar for wear.

    While running

    Safety First

    Shutting down the motor and pump

    Visual Inspection

    Check the motor and pump exterior for cleanliness, leakage, and signs of damage or corrosion.

    Inspect the motor and pump enclosure, and cooling fans for any issues.

    Bearing Inspection

    Look for any signs of over greasing and overheating.

    • Pass
    • Flag
    • Fail

    Grease the bearing on the motor and/or pump that has grease inserts.

    Cleaning

    Bushing Collar Check

    Check the bushing collar between the motor and pump for wear.

    • Flag
    • Fail

    Restarting motor and pump
