Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change
NOTICE: Do not change the coolant until you read and under- stand the cooling system information in Special Pub- lication, SEBU6250, “Caterpillar Machine Fluids Rec- ommendations”.
Failure to do so could result in damage to the cooling system components.
NOTICE: Mixing ELC with other products will reduce the effec- tiveness of the coolant.
This could result in damage to cooling system compo- nents.
If Caterpillar products are not available and com- mercial products must be used, make sure they have passed the Caterpillar EC-1 specification for pre-mixed or concentrate coolants and Caterpillar Extender.
NOTICE: Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, test- ing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before open- ing any compartment or disassembling any compo- nent containing fluids.
Note: This machine was filled at the factory with Caterpillar Extended Life Coolant.
If the coolant in the machine is changed to Extended Life Coolant from another type of coolant, see Special Publication, SEBU6250, “Caterpillar Machine Fluids Recommendations”.
