As with all heavy equipment, it’s important to inspect and maintain your and boom lifts to ensure they’re running efficiently and improving your productivity. This checklist will help you in inspecting these machines at the start of every day, at shift changes and any time a new operator takes over the machine.

As with all heavy equipment, it’s important to inspect and maintain your and boom lifts to ensure they’re running efficiently and improving your productivity. This checklist will help you in inspecting these machines at the start of every day, at shift changes and any time a new operator takes over the machine.

    Perform the Function Check as follows

      From the ground control panel with no load in the platform:

        Check that all guards protecting switches are in place

        • Pass
        • Flag
        • Fail

        Operate all functions

        • Pass
        • Flag
        • Fail

        Ensure that all machine functions are disabled when the Emergency Stop Button is activated.

        • Pass
        • Flag
        • Fail

        Check that auxiliary descent, lift down operates with engine off and power on.

        • Pass

        • Fail

        NOTE: Be sure the platform extension is retracted before lowering.

          From the platform control console:

            Ensure that the control console is firmly secured in the proper location

            • Pass

            Ensure that all guards protecting switches are in place

            • Pass

            Operate all switch functions, drive/lift mode select switch, and horn button.

            • Pass

            Check the high drive cut out switch by raising the platform beyond the preset high drive speed cutout height of 90 - 96 in (2.3 - 2.4 m) and ensure the high drive speed cuts out.

            . Ensure that all machine functions are disabled when the Emergency Stop Button is pushed in.

            Ensure all machine functions stop when function control is released or when joystick trigger is released.

            Ensure that all LEDs in the control box are working properly.

            Check that the platform extension extends and retracts properly

            With the platform in the stowed position:

              Drive the machine on a grade, not to exceed the rated gradeability, and stop to ensure the drive motor brakes hold.
