Lighting Devices: Inspect all (including but not limited to headlights /high/low, road/fog, clearance lamps/side marker, license plate, tail, brake lights, turn signals, 4-ways, and back-up lights)
Reflectors: Inspect for damage and securement
Conspicuity Tape: Inspect for DOT compliance (FMCSR 393.13)
Mirrors: Inspect (Side, spot, fender, rear cross-view,) for damage securement and mirror heater operation if equipped
Mudflaps (anti-sail): Check length/condition
Seats and Seatbelts: Inspect operation/condition
Dash and Cab: Inspect interior lighting
Windows/Glass: Inspect for stone chips, cracks, pitting, and proper operation
Fire Extinguisher: Inspect dates, and mounting hardware
Emergency Triangles: inspect for condition (3 required)
Doors and Locks: Inspect operation, lube as needed
START ENGINE 2g Document any defects in start action and engine operation, (ensure idle shutdown activates within 5 minutes) N/A PTO equipped units
Dash Instruments: Inspect, Air, Oil, Fuel, Voltage, for proper operation
Warning Devices: Inspect Low air (alarm and light)
HVAC System: Inspect for proper operation, Inspect/replace cabin air filter as required
Windshield Wipers/Washers: Inspect condition and operation
Horns: Inspect for proper operation, Air/electric
Back-up alarm: Inspect for proper operation
Clutch: Check free-play and clutch brake operation (manual transmission)
Fluids: Inspect for leaks, Fuel, Oil, Water,
Belts and Hoses: Inspect all belts and hoses for proper operation alignment and wear
Cooling System: Record Antifreeze reading: Degrees oF Pressure Test radiator cap Inspect fan clutch operation 3c Pressure test system for leaks
Radiator: Inspect mounting hardware, hoses/clamps for routing/chaffing, and debris
Air Compressor and System: Check air compressor load and unload pressure. Drain air tanks: note if significant signs of moisture is present service air dryer
Engine Mounts: Inspect for wear and loose mounting hardware
Alternator: Inspect mounting brackets and hardware
Alternator: Inspect mounting brackets and hardware
Starter: Inspect mounting hardware & wiring terminations
Power Steering: Inspect for system leaks and chaffing hoses
Battery: Inspect mounting, connections, cables
Battery 1: Load Test
Battery 2: Load Test
Battery 2: Load Test
Body Mounting: Inspect U-bolts, brackets, and hardware for any sign of movement, wear and loose/missing bolts.
Fifth Wheel: Inspect for damage and wear of jaw operation Lubricate according to OEM specifications.
Pintle Hook: Inspect for damage/cracks and wear:
Air, Electrical, Hydraulic Lines: ensure there is sufficient support to maintain them from wear and chaffing on tractor frame NOTE: Lines are not allowed to lie on decking or frame when properly hooked to trailer
Drum Brakes: Inspect brakes, brakes should have 3/8 to 1½ inches of travel, measured from slack adjuster
Disc Brakes: Inspect pads, replace @ ¼” inspect rotors for cracks
Slack Adjuster: Inspect and lubricate
Camshaft bushings: Inspect and lubricate
Brake Hardware: Inspect for wear and missing components
Brake Chambers: Inspect operation, mounting, internal spring and general condition (replace missing inspection plugs as required)
Brake Chambers: Inspect operation, mounting, internal spring and general condition (replace missing inspection plugs as required)
Brake Hose: Check that hoses are intact from wear, chaffing, or crimping
Record brake linings: (Re-line at 3/8”) record on measurement on table

Brake drums: Check for excessive wear, heat, cracks
Seals: Check for leaks and oil level
Tire Inspection: Check condition of the following Steers: Minimum tread depth 7/32 inch, Drives: Minimum tread depth 4/32 inch, Trailer: Minimum tread depth 4/32 inch,
