This procedure outlines the quarterly inspection and maintenance of stretch wrapping machines, covering safety checks, lock-out/tag-out verification, and preventive maintenance tasks, to ensure efficient, safe, and reliable operation.
SAFETY
Check for any slip, trip, and falls hazards
Take Photo of Asset Prior to Starting

LOTO Log Info
Enter any and all LOTO information...including time, date, beginning/end.
Enter Asset to be locked out
Enter Time (start) of Lock-out
Enter time (release) of lock-out

Check for Control or safety device Bypasses
Check for non-OEM approved equipment modifications
Check for E-Stops for damage or broken E-Stop assemblies
Check all safety guards for damage, missing, or loose mounting
PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE
Check chain tension.
Check tension on carriage trolley chain
Visually inspect ring gear teeth. Remove build-up and grease if needed
Remove Turntable
Check and grease all bearings
Oil Chains
Wipe down machine if dusty or dirty
Clean pre-stretch rollers
Verify wear on carriage locking mechanism
Clean commutator
Open Inspection Door and Oil Chains
Check Carriage Guide Rollers for play
Reinstall Table and Inspection Cover
Check table rollers for wear ( replace in sets )
Check Gates drive belts for wear and proper tension adjust tension if possible.
