Prepare Tank For Removal

• Ensure that equipment is still locked out, and test to be certain.

• Disconnect electrical from motor. Ensure all wiring is tied back out of the way.

• Remove blade from shaft.

• Remove anchor bolts holding tank down to concrete.

• Disconnect dust collector piping.

• Disconnect water connections.

• Remove piping from drain valve

• Inspect tank, and make sure that all wiring, piping, etc. has been removed and out of the way.

Removing Tank From Base

• Position lift where the forks are under the bottom of tank, on each side of drain valve

• Slowly lift tank 2" from ground.

• Ensure that tank is balanced and safe to lift.

• Lift tank enough to clear anchor bolts.

• Slowly back up while turning tank away from catwalk and railing.

• Move tank to center of production floor. Make sure the lift eyes are facing East to West.

• Sit tank down.

Lay Tank On It's Side

• Attach wire rope slings to the pad eyes on each side of bearing housing assembly. Use 7/8" shackles.

• Position lift over center of housing assembly.

• Connect wire ropes to the fork of the lift. Use 7/8" shackle, if lift has lifting eye.

• Raise lift to take slack from cables.

• Position second lift behind tank.

• Use forks on second lift to push top of the tank toward other lift.

• Use first lift to slowly lower tank down.

• Position second lift to keep tank from sliding as it's being lowered.

• Sit tank on ground.

Remove Sheave

• Measure exact placement of bushing and sheave, so it can be set back in same spot. Note measurements.

• Remove bolts from sheave on the top of shaft.

• Use sheave push bolt holes, or puller, to remove sheave from shaft

• Remove bushing from shaft

• Sit bushing and sheave aside. Do not loose key stock or bolts.

Measure Bearing Placement

• Take measurements of EXACT placement of the bearings. Note to use to set new bearings later.

Un-bolt Bearings

• Remove bolts holing top bearing housing.

• Remove Bolts holding top bearing plate.

• Remove bolts from bottom bearing housing.

• Set all bolts aside, and do not loose them.

Remove Shaft

• Position lift to rig up on shaft at the top end.

• Using 4' nylon strap choke shaft close to top bearing.

• Using a 3/4" shackle, attach strap to lift.

• Position second lift to keep shaft from hitting the ground when the end comes out.

• Use lift to pull shaft from tank.

• Ensure that bearings clear all housing openings as shaft is being slid. Adjust lift accordingly

• Set shaft and bearing to side.

Install New Bearings On New Shaft

• Use measurement taken from old bearings to install new ones in exact location.

Install New Shaft

• Using lift, slide new shaft and bearing into tank.

• Ensure blade is proper distance from bottom of tank.

• Bolt bearing housings and plate into place.

• Re-install sheave to exact measurements as before.

Stand Tank UP

• Using same rigging, stand tank up using the pad eyes on bearing assembly.

Set Tank And connections.

• Sit tank in its original position using lift.

• Connect al electrical, plumbing, and dust collector connections.

• Install hub and blade.

Test And Turn Over

• Test equipment

• Return to production.
