This checklist provides pre-operational and operational checks you can do before and after starting the forklift; that will only take a few minutes to ensure your safety, the safety of the people around you and the safety of your forklift.
  • A good pre-operational check should include:

  • GENERAL WALK AROUND

  • FUEL SYSTEM

  • ENGINE OIL

  • COOLANT -*to prevent injury, radiator cap should be removed ONLY when engine is cool*

  • DRIVE BELTS

  • TRANSMISSION FLUID

  • HYDRAULIC SYSTEM FLUID

  • HYDRAULIC SYSTEM COMPONENTS

  • ELECTRICAL SYSTEM COMPONENTS - *use extra caution when inspecting batteries*

  • AIR INDUCTION

  • UNDERCARRIAGE

  • HARDWARE AND ATTACHMENTS

  • SAFETY SYSTEMS

  • OPERATOR CONTROLS - *some of these checks require the vehicle to be in motion*

  • Note: (conditions requiring maintenance)
