Before Starting Out-Take A Walk
The driver of each shift should make a "walk around" inspection daily to check the safety equipment and levels or operation and conditions of the following
Inside
Air Pressure at Gage
All Instruments
All Brakes
Steering
Horn
Seat Belts
Foot Pedals
Windshield Wipers
Windshield Washers
Signaling Devices
Heater / Defroster
Seat Adjustment
Outside
Fuel In Tank & Fuel Lines
Oil In Engine
Proper Air Pressure In All Tires
Drain the Air Separator
Check For Fluid Leaks
Front Wheel Bearings (Oil)
Doors and Windows
Check for broken or cracked lights or lenses
Proper licensing and plates
Rear view mirrors properly adjusted
Reflectors in place and not broken
Wheel Stud Nuts tight and in place
Hood latches secure
Check operation of lights and turn signals
Check handholds, deck plates, battery box covers, fuel tank and straps securely fastened and free from corrosion
