Sonny's Controller Troubleshooting Run Book

Steps

• 1) Check voltage on the control wire to see if iLock is on

• A) Should be running into Input 3 on the STC

• B) If iLock is on, problem is in the STC

• C) If iLock is off, problem is in the MCC

• a) Check voltage on the relay going out to the VFD

• ~Should be 24v DC

• ~Should be near some timers/dials in the bottom lefthand corner of the MCC

• ~~Maybe terminal 301?

• ~We've seen a problem in the past where this relay was a 110V relay when it should have been a 24vDC relay.

• ~~The site can run with a 24vAC relay, but a DC relay should ultimately be installed.

• b) You might try to call SunCoast because they are the MCC Manufacturer, but they haven't been particularly helpful in the past.

• 2) Try to turn the conveyor to hand/manual mode to see if it comes on

• A) If it does, then the wiring to the conveyor is good and we need to check elsewhere.

• B) If it doesn't, the issue is confirmed as in the MCC

• 3) Try to force the conveyor on from the VFD or STI Panel

• A) If it works, issue is confirmed as in MCC or STC.

• B) If it doesn't, the VFD is having issues and might need reprogrammed/reset.

Steps

• 1) Log into Sonny's Back Office: https://livingwater.sonnyscontrols.com

• 2) Go to Config -> Tunnel Administration

• 3) Click the crosshairs on the far right for the appropriate controller

• 4) Go to Configure on the left hand side.

• 5) Make sure the tunnel is clear and the queue is cleared.

• 6) Click Enable Configuration Mode

• 7) Click I'm ready

• 8) Scroll down and change the Pulse Timing Type from External to Backup

• 9) Update the Backup Pulse Resolution starting with 750ms

• A) If the devices are turning on too early, increase the number in increments of 25 saving and testing in between each change.

• B) If the devices are turning on too late, decrease the number in increments of 25 saving and testing in between each change.

• 10) Scroll to the bottom and click save.

Steps

• 1) Check hydraulic float

• A) Sometimes if levels get too low, the float can get stuck and needs manually un-stuck

• 2) Check pulse sensor

• A) Sonny's can be set in such a way that if the pulse fails, the conveyor will stop as opposed to other systems that might drop into sim pulse.
