Allied K-Series (7.5 - 12.5 KGA): Quarterly Maintenance

Clean burners as follows:

• Turn off both electrical power and gas supply to unit.

• Remove burner compartment access panel.

• Remove two screws securing burners to burner support and lift the burners from the orifices. See figure 15. Clean as necessary.

• Locate the ignitor under the left burners. Check ignitor spark gap with appropriately sized twist drills or feeler gauges. See figure 17.

• Replace burners and screws securing gas manifold.

• Replace access panel.

• Restore electrical power and gas supply. Follow lighting instructions attached to unit and use inspection port in access panel to check flame.

Clean combustion air inducer as follows:

• Shut off power supply and gas to unit.

• Disconnect pressure switch air tubing from combustion air inducer port.

• Remove and retain screws securing combustion air inducer to flue box. Remove and retain two screws from bracket supporting vent connector. See figure 14.

• Clean inducer wheel blades with a small brush and wipe off any dust from housing. Clean accumulated dust from front of flue box cover

• Return combustion air inducer motor and vent connector to original location and secure with retained screws. It is recommended that the combustion air inducer gasket be replaced during reassembly.

• Clean combustion air inlet louvers on heat access panel using a small brush.

F-Flue Passageway and Flue Box

• Remove combustion air inducer assembly as described in section D.

• Remove flue box cover. Clean with a wire brush as required.

• Clean tubes with a wire brush.

• Reassemble the unit. The flue box cover gasket and combustion air inducer gasket should also be replaced during reassembly.
