Monthly Lightning Mixer Inspection

Conduct a thorough inspection of the Lightning mixer on a monthly basis to ensure its proper functionality and adherence to safety standards.

Ensure mounting hardware is snug. Bolts holding the frame to the kettle and the bolts for the gearbox flange to the mixer shaft flange.

Ensure the rubber washers are in good shape and not deteriorated. 4 Locations where frame is mounted to kettle.

Ensure there is no loose or chipping paint on the motor or gearbox frame.

While Lightnin Mixer is not running, push on the flanges to determine if there is play in the bearings. There should be NO play in the bearings.

Check the coupling for the motor and mixer shaft. Grab the mixer shaft and turn slightly, there should be NO play when turning the shaft. If there is, the coupling is starting to wear and will need replaced or looked at.

Ensure electrical cable and connections to motor are in good shape, are snug, and not missing any components.
